La Grande, OR
La Grande Plaza was recapitalized and rehabilitated in 2015 with funding from Oregon Housing and Community Services and a loan through Bank of Eastern Oregon. Renovations included a major overhaul of the building exteriors, stairs and walkways, new windows, unit interiors, and accessibility and significant energy-efficiency improvements. With the affordability restrictions extended and secure, La Grande Plaza offers families in Union County at 50% or below the area median income two and three-bedroom updated housing units (all with rental assistance), as well as on-site laundry facilities, off-street parking, and attractive curb appeal, all conveniently located near shopping, dining, and public parks. In 2019, rooftop solar systems were installed through a partnership with Fleet Development (www.fleetdevelopment.org) which will eventually reduce residential and operational usage by 40-95%.
